Name: News Conference to Announce Community Pride Campaign
    Date: January 14, 2016
    Time: 11:00 AM - 11:00 AM EST
    Event Description:

The Cecil County Chamber of Commerce will be joined by key community leaders at a news conference on Thursday, January 14, at 11:00 AM, at Cecil College Elkton Station. The purpose of the gathering will be to announce the official launch of a new countywide community pride campaign.

Cecil Chamber Board Chair Joe DiNunzio is expected to be joined by County Executive Tari Moore, one or more County Council members, Elkton Mayor Rob Alt, North East Mayor Robert McKnight, Al Miller from the Cecil County Fair Board, Linda Burris with Delmarva Power, a representative for Cecil County Health Officer Stephanie Garrity, new President and CEO of Union Hospital Richard Szumel, and others.

DiNunzio said, "The Chamber Board is honored to have these and other community leaders stand with us as we launch this exciting new initiative designed to celebrate the many positive features of Cecil County and those who live here."

According to Bonnie Grady, Cecil Chamber’s President/CEO, a new logo and slogan will be revealed to the public at the news conference. Businesses, schools, churches, civic organizations, government entities, and other groups will be invited to incorporate the logo and slogan into their everyday communications as a way of promoting Cecil County and all we have to offer. Grady added that every Cecil County resident and every organization will be encouraged to come up with their own ideas about how to join the ongoing celebration of our community. "This may include something as simple as adding the logo to your website, or something as big as creating an event for your clients and employees to recognize the positive things happening all around us."

Grady invited Chamber members, local residents, and anyone who is excited about Cecil County to attend the news conference to learn more.
