              Saturday, July 18th - 11am-2pm
              Magic Eggs: The Art of Pysanky
              Jennifer Domal, Mixed Media/Pysanky Artist
              This ancient art known as pysanky, literally "writing", involves applying hot bees wax with a stylus on a shell over a succession of aniline dyes. When the writing of the patterns are completed, the wax is removed. Intricate, bold designs are revealed. Symbolism and stories are showcased on each little canvas from an ordinary egg. Students will be able to create heirloom pieces for any holiday.  Supplies (2 eggs, beeswax, use of dyes and use of tools) are included in the workshop fee.
