Name: First Friday & Exhibit Opening ReceptionDate: April 6, 2018Time: 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM EDTEvent Description:Our April First Friday at The Palette & The Page, LLC art gallery, features “Alchemy of Color” an exhibit of work by Philadelphia painter, Erica Harney. The Opening Reception is from 5pm-8pm and will have live music by Seth Tillman, as well as a book signing with author Kevin Barnett and his book Living My Shadows, LLC. The Event is FREE. The exhibit will continue through Friday, April 27th. Erica Harney, Artist, looks forward to meeting and sharing her varied and thought provoking paintings with members of our community. Painter Erica Harney holds a BFA from Alfred University and an MFA from the Pennsylvania State University. She has also studied at the Santa Reparata International School of Art in Florence, Italy. Harney has exhibited extensively across the US and internationally. She is the recipient of numerous awards and has been featured in several publications. She has been a resident artist at ArtScape in Toronto, Weir Farm in Connecticut, the Palazzo Rinaldi in Italy, and the Vermont Studio Center. Erica has worked collaboratively with visual artists, musicians, writers, and choreographers. She has also worked with the world-renowned Mural Arts Program in Philadelphia: most recently on a mile-long street mural for the 2016 Democratic National Convention. She is currently part of the faculty at Alvernia University’s Philadelphia Center and Cecil College. Erica continues to lead various workshops, lectures and community education classes across the Mid-Atlantic region. Since 2012 Harney has worked professionally as a scenic painter for Philadelphia-area theatre and production companies that include Opera Philadelphia, Opera Delaware, the Fulton Theatre in Lancaster, PA and the New Candlelight Theatre in Wilmington, DE. Kevin IJA Barnett, Sr. is a native of East Orange, New Jersey. An Army veteran, Kevin retired in 2008 after 20 years and tours of duty in Europe, Afghanistan and the U.S. Kevin earned a Master of Science degree in Information Management Technology with distinction. Kevin is married to Sharon F. Pelham. He is the proud father of four sons: Kevin, Isaiah, Charles and Darrius and stepfather to Samantha.Location:The Palette & The Page
