CCEA Bike-a-Thon Fundraiser
Name: CCEA Bike-a-Thon FundraiserDate: September 28, 2024Time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM EDTWebsite: https://ccea4u.org/bike-a-thonEvent Description:The CCEA is excited to be holding the second Bike-a-Thon Fundraiser on Saturday, September 28, 2024, rain or shine. This event features students and families from Chesapeake City Elementary and Middle Schools participating by taking laps with their bicycles, scooters, roller skates, other wheeled transportation, or even just walking, on a course created in the school parking lot. Students will get “per lap” sponsorships from friends and family members, and earn prizes for completed laps. Last year was really fun, and we are looking forward to having even more participants this year, now that the word is out!
As you may be aware, the Chesapeake City Ecumenical Association has been working hard to meet needs in our greater Chesapeake City community for over thirty years. We offer a food pantry for residents and families, care boxes for seniors and elementary school students in need, an accessible clothing & home pantry, and emergency assistance for rent and utilities. The needs in our community are continuing to grow. More and more financially vulnerable residents are turning to the CCEA for assistance in 2024. For example, in April, we had a record number of families come to us for food in one week, which emptied the food pantry shelves!
The proceeds from our first Bike-a-Thon Fundraiser in 2023 were placed in a fund to support the building/acquisition of a future CCEA Community Outreach Center. To meet the immediate needs of our community, this year the proceeds will be used to support our Food, Financial Assistance, and Care Box programs for families, children and seniors.Location:Bo Manor High School parking lot
